FOREVER MOTOWN

Saturday, April 24, 2010, 7:30 p.m.

Bromeley Family Theater, Blaisdell Hall, University of Pittsburgh at Bradford

When Berry Gordy founded Motown in 1959, he said he was making "music for young America." He sure did! The Golden Age of Motown - from the early '60s through the early '70s - produced some of the greatest popular music this country has ever heard! The Supremes, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, the Four Tops, and Martha and the Vandellas were just a few of those Motown super talents helping to define American pop music of the 1960s.

The current members of the Cornell Gunter's Coasters and The Marvelettes perform all the great songs from the immortal Motown artists.

With those kinds of soulful chops, this is music for all America! Check out BCPAC's facebook link for a great video clip - click here

Bromely Family Theater, Blaisdell Hall, Univeristy of Pittsburgh at Bradford, Bradford PA

One of America's most beloved actors is playing one of America's most beloved presidents.
Edward Asner is primarily known for his Emmy- winning role as Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spin-off series, Lou Grant. He is also acclaimed for his performance as Captain Davies in the classic mini-series Roots, the man who kidnapped Kunta Kinte and sold him into slavery, a role that earned Asner another Emmy Award. He most recently provided the voice of Carl Fredricksen in Pixar's Academy Award- winning animated film Up.

In FDR, Asner explores the life of one of America's best loved presidents and the events and decisions that helped to shape our nation. This powerful play follows the iconic president as he reflects on his years in office, from his inauguration through the Great Depression to the epic battles of World War II. Edward Asner in FDR makes for stirring historic drama from a great actor and storyteller.
